The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way. Though he fall, he should not be utterly cast down: for the Lord upholdeth him with his hand. Psalm 37:23-24(KJV)
Earlier this month I was helping my grandson make his bed. I had washed his sheets and I wanted to get the covers back on the bed before night. As we put the covers on the bed, my little man slipped and fell. I told him to get up because we had work to do.
Initially, he just lay there.
I told him that just because he fell on the floor didn’t mean that he needed to stay there. He made no attempt to get himself up from the floor. Perhaps he thought I was going to finish making the bed by myself.
Most of us have fallen at some point over the years. Something probably caused us to fall or trip. If we were not badly injured by the fall, we got up or someone may have assisted us.
Friend, God wants you to get up when you fall. My grandson fell because he tripped on something that was on the floor.
Spiritually, circumstances may cause you to fall, but you are encouraged by the scriptures to rise up.
We fall and refuse to get up for a number of reasons, but we are able to recover if we fall.
1 Corinthians 10:13 reminds us that God will provide a way of escape.
There have no temptation taken you but such as is common to man:but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
God has work for us to do and people are depending on us.
